About Us

Hunter Coast Dermatology & Laser was founded by Dr Jessica Bale and Dr Rashi Malesu in 2021. The practice was established from a shared desire to service the dermatology needs of the Newcastle and Hunter Region and beyond. HCDL offers the most comprehensive range of medical, surgical and laser dermatology in the region.

The Dermatologists at HCDL are all Fellows of The Australasian College of Dermatology. This means that in addition to 5 or 6 years of University medical education, and several years as hospital doctors, they undergo 4 additional years of rigorous training in specialist medical and surgical dermatology. Dermatologists must sit comprehensive exams at the end of their specialty training to be awarded this qualification. Dr’s Bale and Dr Malesu each have specialty interests within dermatology.
